Our Concept
TERAMACHI is a private machiya townhouse stay
in Kuwana's historic Teramachi district.
The building is a charming traditional townhouse: a 90-year-old family-run flower shop occupies the ground floor, and the entire second floor is your private accommodation. Renovated in a warm Japanese-modern style that preserves the original beams and craftsmanship, it features two tatami lounge areas where you can relax, stretch out, and enjoy tea together.
Just a 7-minute walk from Kuwana Station, it is perfect for travelers without a car. Use it as your base — Nagashima Spaland today, Suzuka Circuit tomorrow. The local shopping street with its morning market is nearby, and the friendly flower shop staff downstairs are happy to share their favorite restaurants and sightseeing tips.

Bedroom 1
Two semi-double beds and one single bed. Decorated with kimono and Japanese folk crafts, preserving the atmosphere of the original townhouse. A raised tatami corner by the window is perfect for unwinding.
Dining & Tatami Rooms
A dining table for meals and conversation, plus two relaxing tatami lounge spaces — lounge on bean bags or gather for tea. A simple kitchenette (fridge, microwave, basic cookware) is provided.
Washroom & Shower
Fully renovated modern water areas. With two toilets and two wash basins, busy mornings are easy even for groups. One shower room (no bathtub). Hair dryer and amenities provided.

The ground floor is a flower shop with 90 years of history — look for the storefront overflowing with seasonal flowers. During opening hours the staff may say hello; feel free to ask them for local restaurant and sightseeing recommendations.

Important Notice
As a renovated historic townhouse, the entrance and staircase to the 2nd floor are rather narrow — please take care when carrying suitcases. To preserve its character, some ceilings are low with exposed beams overhead; taller guests should mind their heads (cushioning is installed at the most bump-prone spots).
In return, you get the authentic atmosphere of a real machiya. We recommend it to travelers who want to experience old Japan.
